# Tour operator software for excursion companies in the United Kingdom and Ireland

How excursions are sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland, what the software market there looks like, and what TourCockpit brings a tour or excursion company that sells through tour operators, hotel desks and agencies: an operator portal, a daily operations board and a month-end settlement per operator, at a published price, in English, and five more languages for the operators.

## How are excursions sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland?

The UK is the one market where an incumbent already does TourCockpit's job: the coach-operator software niche, anchored by Distinctive Systems with CoachSys, eCoachManager and Transporters.io underneath. The day-excursion trade is also shaped differently: volume comes from direct retail, feeder pickups from villages, group travel organisers, coach-holiday wholesalers and agent bookings, not from a handful of resort operators on a commission.

## What does the software market look like there?

UK buyers are offered pure transaction pricing with no commitment, or per-vehicle pricing, and those always look cheaper on the first slide; the established product is a client-server system with a twelve-month term and passenger-capacity bands. Ireland is thin on vendors: Dublin and Killarney day-tour sellers lean on hotel front desks and inbound handlers and run on imported software or spreadsheets.

## What does TourCockpit bring to a company in the United Kingdom and Ireland?

- A modern web application with a phone view for guides and drivers, against installed client-server software.
- A flat price with no term and no passenger bands, which at 11,000 passengers a year is well under the incumbent's unlimited band.
- A portal that works for a group travel organiser or a hotel front desk as well as for a resort operator, each with its own commission and its own settlement line.
- Six languages, for a company whose operators are not all English-speaking.

## Local specifics

- Where volume is direct retail rather than operator commission, the daily board and the manifest carry the case; the portal serves the organisers and desks that do book on commission.
- Ireland's hotel-desk pattern is closer to the Canary one, and the portal serves the desk directly.
- Sterling pricing is not published; the platform is priced in euros.
