# Tour operator software for excursion companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

How excursions are sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, what the software market there looks like, and what TourCockpit brings a tour or excursion company that sells through tour operators, hotel desks and agencies: an operator portal, a daily operations board and a month-end settlement per operator, at a published price, in German for the office (formal address throughout), and five more languages for the operators.

## How are excursions sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?

Two worlds that do not connect. The bus and Touristik ERPs, twenty-five to forty-five years old, own the dispatch board and own it well: Disposition, driving-time compliance, working-time capture, DATEV export and margin taxation. None of them has a self-service B2B portal where an external tour operator logs in, books against a negotiated commission and receives a month-end gross-versus-net settlement.

## What does the software market look like there?

Pricing is quote-only, licensed per workstation or per simultaneous user, usually with a four- or five-figure setup and an annual maintenance contract. A five-vehicle company cannot learn what the software costs without a sales cycle. Buyers expect API and XML connectivity, ask about hosting location and GDPR early, and treat DATEV export as table stakes for invoicing.

## What does TourCockpit bring to a company in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?

- The bridge the incumbents do not sell: a portal where TUI or any other operator books its own seats against its commission, and a settlement per operator at month end.
- A published price, €300 a month with no setup and no per-seat licence, which is not how operations software is sold in this market.
- A German office interface with formal address, and the operator's own language in the portal.
- A REST API with an OpenAPI document, for the connectivity German operators expect.

## Local specifics

- Driving-time and working-time capture, DATEV export and margin taxation stay with your existing tools; TourCockpit runs the day, the operators and the settlement.
- Hosting is in the European Union.
- Bus ERPs remain the right tool for charter and regular lines; TourCockpit is for seats sold on excursions through operators.

Market notes come from our own research across seven European markets, completed in August 2026, checked against each vendor's own pages. Where TourCockpit does not do something, this page says so.
