# My sales: what your desk sold

My sales adds up what your desk sold for one tour company, a month at a time: how many bookings you made, how many guests they carry and what they are worth, split by how they were paid and by tour. It is your own desk's work only, and it is read from the same bookings the office reads, so the two can never disagree.

## What does My sales add up?

My sales sits in the menu between the board and My Team. It opens on the month you are in and shows three figures for it: Bookings, how many your desk made; Guests, how many people those bookings carry, adults, children and infants together; and Booking value, what they are worth. Under them the same month is split two ways, By payment type and By tour.

A month here is the month the tour runs, not the day you took the booking. A booking made in August for a tour in September counts in September, which is the way the office counts it too. A line under the tables says so on the screen.

## How do I look at another month?

Previous and Next, either side of the month's name, step one month at a time, as far back and as far forward as you like. A month you sold nothing in says so plainly, with that month's name, rather than showing empty tables, so a quiet month is never mistaken for a broken screen.

## What do By payment type and By tour show?

- By payment type lists all four ways of paying, CASH, TKT, PREPAID and Free, every month, each with its bookings, its guests and its value. A way of paying you did not use that month is still listed, at zero, so the four always add up to the figures above.
- By tour lists the tours you sold, the one worth the most first. A tour you sold nothing of is simply absent.

Both read as a table on a desktop and as one card per line on a phone, so the whole month fits a screen you are holding at the counter.

A tour is named here the way the tour company wrote it, not translated the way the booking cards translate it. It is the name to use when you telephone their office about a month.

## Which bookings are counted, and which are not?

- Your whole desk, whoever of you took each booking. It is the agency's month, not one person's.
- One tour company at a time. If you sell for several, each shows its own sales; switch company to read the other.
- Nobody else's bookings. Another agency's seats on the same departure are not in these figures, and the office's own bookings are not either.
- A cancelled booking is not counted, and neither is a booking on a departure the office cancelled.

## Why is there no commission, and no cash?

Booking value is what the bookings are worth, and that is the only money on this screen. Your commission is not on it: what each agency earns is agreed with the tour company and settled by them, and it is not yours to read here. Nor is the cash the guides collect on the bus, which is the office's own money to count at the end of a day.

The office reads the same figures from its own Financials screen, worked out by the same sums. If a month here and a month they quote you disagree, one of you is reading a different month, because there is only one set of numbers underneath.
