# Rates: what a guide is paid per tour

Rates is where the Owner sets what a guide is paid for each kind of tour, from a date. The pay sheet reads them: every tour is paid at the rate in force on its own date. It is the Owner's alone, like the pay sheet.

## What does the Rates screen show?

Open Guide pay and choose Rates. One line per kind, named as on the pay sheet: Corti, Larghi, Medio día, Private, Transfer, the supplement for 3+ languages, and A day's cover. Each line shows the Rate now, the date it started, the Next change already saved, and how many Unrated tours a missing rate left since the first of last month. Below them, A guide's own rates lists any rate a single guide has, which wins over the company's for that guide. On a phone each line is a card with the same figures.

Only an Owner sees Rates. A manager has no link to it, and opening its address answers that the page does not exist.

## How do I change a rate?

- Tap the kind in the list, or pick it in Kind: the form at the top takes it.
- Type the Amount, choose the date it applies From, and leave Guide on Everyone (company rate), or pick one guide from the roster for a rate of their own.
- Choose Save rate. A change is always a new rate from its date, never an edit of the old one, so a month already paid keeps the rate it was paid at.

A date on or before today can change tours that already ran, today's included. When it does, the screen says how many tours it re-pays and asks again before it saves. Saving the same kind, guide and date again with the same amount changes nothing; with another amount it is refused, because a saved rate is never overwritten: keep it, or start the new amount on another date.

## What does No rate yet mean?

No rate yet marks a kind with no company rate in force today. Its tours are unrated on the pay sheet: their pay is not known, and they are never counted as zero. Open the line to see the tours it left unrated, then save a rate from a date on or before the first of them. A rate of 0 is different: it is a known rate that pays nothing, and the tour is rated.

A rate that has not started yet can be deleted from its line. Once its date has come it may have paid tours, so it stays: add a new rate from a later date instead.
