# Every hotel is in a pickup zone

A hotel's zone is what answers its pickup time, so a hotel left without one puts a guest on the manifest with an empty time column, which is the single thing zones exist to prevent. The zone is asked for now wherever a hotel is added, on Reference Data and in the small box that opens from a booking row, and there is no blank left to save it on. Because a hotel can no longer end up with no zone, a zone that still has hotels in it can no longer be retired either: its row says how many are in the way, and the way out is to move them to another zone first.
